Robert Frederick Dunkin

1927 - 2024

Dunkin, Robert Fredrick (Bob), age 96, was a resident of Ashbury Ponds Senior Living Community, Ashburn, Virginia. Bob was the son of Robert Fedrick Dunkin of Albia, Iowa and Margaret Hansen of Denver, Colorado. After a long and blessed life, Bob passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 3rd, 2024.

In 1949, Bob received his BS Degree from the University of Iowa. He married Rosemary Francis Farrell and they proceeded to live in Moline, Illinois, then Bethesda, Maryland, where they were blessed to have three children - Susan, Christopher "Chris", and John. Bob loved traveling through the USA and abroad and took his family along with him as often as possible.

Bob was employed by J.C. Penny and IBM - Federal Systems Division. After retiring from IBM, Bob was employed as an Event Coordinator for IEEE-USA (The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers), headquartered in New York.

After Bob's wife, Rosemary's death on November 13, 1998, Bob met and married Cheryl Diane Judd in Gaithersburg, Maryland in October 2000. They enjoyed traveling, playing golf and spending time with their blended family of children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, many friends, and relatives.

In February 2021, Bob and Cheryl moved to Ashbury Ponds Senior Living Community, Ashburn, Virginia.

Robert Fredrick (Bob) Dunkin leaves many to cherish his memory, including his wife of 23 years, Cheryl Dunkin; his daughter, Susan Dunkin (Linwood) Orenduff; two sons, Christopher Dunkin and John (Kay) Dunkin; stepdaughters, Kelli Orrison and Angie Ackerman; grandchildren, Nicholas (Ymelda) Orenduff, Heather (Chris) Tippery, Zack (Gabby) Dunkin; step grandsons, Aaron and Brady Orrison, and Chase and Mason Ackerman; and great granddaughters, Valentina Orenduff, Isabella Orenduff, and Fiona Dunkin.

A private memorial service will be held at a later time.
