Ruth Ann Jeter North

NORTH, Mrs. Ruth Ann Jeter, 72, passed away peacefully at home, where she has been lovingly and compassionately cared for by family on May 3, 2022, after a courageous and lengthy battle with Alzheimer's. She was born January 6, 1950 in Richmond, Va. and was the daughter of the late Rose and Raymond Jeter Sr. She also was predeceased by her brother, Raymond Jeter Jr.; and his wife, Joan. Ruth was a loving and supportive wife and mother. She was a quiet and caring person with a beautifully contagious smile. She loved to read and do crossword puzzles. She greatly enjoyed family trips to Disney World that often included friends of her daughter or other family. In her younger years, she loved playing softball; she coached in the Bethlehem Softball League, a women's youth league in Richmond. A graduate of Tucker High School in 1968, she pursued a career in insurance until 2010, when an early onset of Alzheimer's would not allow her to continue. Left to cherish the loving memories of Mrs. North are her devoted husband of 38 years, Dale North; Her loving daughter, Leslie Whitehead; her son, David Fuller (Sherry) and their son, Jon; her sisters, Lois Corbitt (Robert) and Linda Owen (Don, who is deceased). Ruth was devoted to her family, all of which held a special place in her heart. The celebration of her life will be held 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Oman Funeral Home and Crematory, 653 Cedar Rd., Chesapeake, Va. on Saturday, May 21, 2022. She will be privately interred in Historyland Memorial Park, King George, Va.
