Dr. Sledge was one of the kindest professors I´ve ever met in my entire lifetime. Everytime I reflect on my time at Norfolk state I think about her. She was always positive & always willing to help. I wouldn´t have Graduated if it wasn´t for Dr. Sledge´s encouragement.. I´m forever grateful for knowing such a kind soul. Always praying for your family

Sally was a great colleague at Christopher Newport University, Luter School of Business. Our offices were next door to each other and we became good friends and colleagues. We attended conferences together, published papers together even after she moved to Norfolk State we maintained our friendship and collaboration on papers. Our last collaboration was published recently and we had been planning another paper for this summer. We had been in communication about that proposed paper up to end of March of this year when she indicated she would connect with me again at the end of her spring term. Words cannot express my deep sorrow when learning of her passing. I think of her often. She had such a beautiful smile a giving nature and we shared many meals and long chats together. She will be remembered fondly forever.

It is hard to say goodbye to someone who embraced me like her own brother and family member! Sally, thank you for all the kindness you have showered me during our time as PhD students then later as colleagues. You had stayed in touch eventhough 23 years had passed since our graduation. Thank you for always being there for me through good and bad times. To me, you define "perfectly" the meaning of the word "humanity,"hardwork," "kindness," "empathy," "intelligence," and "tolerance" to other people´s cultures. You will be missed and forever stay in my heart. May the angels shower you with love and kindness as you are resting in peace in Lord´s permanent kingdom.
