Wilhelmina Moore Obituary

MOORE Wilhelmina S. Moore, of Petersburg, died on Thursday, September 07, 2006. Beloved wife of the late Ernest M. Moore Jr.; devoted mother of E. Maynard (Paula) Moore III and Charles Richard (Patty) Moore; loving sister of Richard H. (Jean) Salmon; adored grandmother of Willamarie Moore and Charles Anthony Moore; cherished great-grandmother of Alexandra and Samantha, Sofia, Charlie and Avery. Wilhelmina was, for many years, actively participating in the United Methodist Women of the Virginia Conference and a member of the Washington Street United Methodist Church. She was an active member of the Twigs service club at Southside Regional Medical Center and a longtime member of the Federated Women's Club of Petersburg. The family will receive friends and well-wishers at J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, 103 S. Adams St., Petersburg, (804-733-8511) on Sunday, September 10, 2006 from 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held the following day, Monday, September 11, 2006, at 11 a.m. at Washington Street United Methodist Church, 24 East Washington St., Petersburg 23803. Interment will immediately follow at Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in the name of Wilhelmina S. Moore to any of the following: Knights Templar Eye Foundation, 1000 East State Pky, Suite I, Schaumburg, Ill. 60173-4592; Petersburg Home for Ladies, Benevolence Fund, 311 South Jefferson St., Petersburg, Va. 23803; or Washington Street United Methodist Church c/o United Methodist Women.
