William Bunch Obituary

BUNCH Dr. William Garfield Bunch Jr., 67, husband of Joanne Riggins Bunch, died Thursday, November 16, 2006 in South Hill. A native of Roanoke Rapids, N.C., Dr. Bunch was a graduate of Hampden-Sydney College, Class of 1960 and MCV School of Dentistry, Class of 1964. After graduation in 1964, Dr. Bunch started his practice in Chase City, where he remained in practice until his death. He was a member of Sigma Chi, the American Dental Association, served on the Library Board for the Butler Memorial Library, and was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday at St. John's Episcopal Church with the Reverends Susan Grimm and Harrison Simons officiating. Burial will follow in the Bluestone Cemetery. In addition to his wife, Dr. Bunch is survived by daughter, Deborah Bunch Farmer of Blackridge; and son and daughter-in-law, William D. and Mary Elizabeth Bunch of Klamath Falls, Oregon. Also surviving are seven grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, William Garfield Bunch Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Faison Bunch. The family will receive friends 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home. You may also express your condolences at www.wclfh.com. In lieu of flowers, please consider contributions to St. John's Episcopal Church, Butler Memorial Library and the Chase City Rescue Squad.
