William A. "Bill" Fox

FOX, William A. "Bill", 82, of Chesterfield, VA, passed away on September 7, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Fox; and his sister, Helen Fox Moody.

Bill is survived by his loving wife, Marguerite Macgregor Fox (Margi); his children, Pegi Spriggs (Russell), Patty Fox, and Chris Fox (Michelle); grandchildren, Joseph, Briton, Joshua, Matthew, and Emma; and his nephew, Seamus.

Bill graduated from Catholic University with a degree in chemical engineering after which he earned his master's of chemical engineering from Northwestern University. He also obtained his MBA from Virginia Commonwealth University. Bill earned his Professional Engineering (PE) license and had a successful career during which he was awarded multiple industrial patents. While at Catholic University, Bill met Margi, his wife of 58 years. They settled in Chester, Virginia, where they raised their three children.

Bill was a man of abiding faith. He loved God and sought communion with Him throughout his life. He was active in bible study and prayer groups until his passing. He volunteered in church, serving as an altar boy, eucharistic minister, and confirmation sponsor. He also served the community, volunteering with the local school system and providing companionship to those in need.

While Bill loved spending time with family and friends, he was also an avid outdoorsman and nature lover. He studied to become a Master Naturalist and volunteered with Friends of Pocahontas State Park. An avid photographer for most of his life, he loved photographing people in their everyday life as well as special occasions. Bill loved being outside, capturing images of nature's beauty including sunrises, flowers and animals. He shared his knowledge and love of photography by teaching the fundamentals of photography to various groups and individuals. For Bill, a perfect afternoon would be one spent in the park with his dog taking pictures of God's creations.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at Bliley's Funeral Home, 3801 Augusta Ave., Richmond, VA, 23230, where a prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, on Friday, September 15, 2023, at 12 p.m.
