Dorritt N. Singer

1923 - 2016

Dorritt N. Singer, 92, of Worcester, passed away on March 15, 2016 at Meadowood Senior Living in Worcester, PA. She was the wife of the late Charles E. Heaps who passed away in 2000, and the late William G. Singer, Jr., who passed away in 2006. Born on August 13, 1923 in Youngsville, PA she was the daughter of the late John A. and Dorritt M. (nee Sweetland) Nyquist. She was a 1942 graduate of Youngsville High School and a 1947 graduate of Ellen Cushing Junior College where she earned a degree in Christian Education. Dorritt had been employed for many years as a Secretary by the U.S. Government in Washington, D.C., and also at the Norristown State Hospital in Norristown, PA prior to her retirement in 1990. She was also a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church in Lansdale, PA for many years, and also a member of the AFSCME Union. Dorritt is survived by her children, Lawrence M. Heaps, of San Francisco, CA, Ellen H. Cicak (John), of Pineville, PA, and Kathleen H. Webb (Mark), of Endwell, NY, and also her five grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her four sisters and three brothers. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Memorial Service on Sunday, March 20, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the Meadowood Senior Living Community Center, 3205 Skippack Pike, Worcester, PA 19490, and to greet the family immediately after the Memorial Service. Burial will be held privately by her family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name can be made to the Central Schwenkfelder Church Organ Fund, 2111 S.
