John Detwiler Obituary
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of nineteen years, Jean L. Detwiler, who died in 2007.
Born June 30, 1941 in Norristown, John was the son of the late John C. and Pearl G. (Ruth) Detwiler.
John was a 1959 graduate of Norristown Area High School, and he went on to attend Drexel University.
He honorably served his country in the United States Air Force.
Mr. Detwiler was a longtime salesman for various local companies, and he currently worked for Fecera's Furniture in Collegeville.
John's greatest joy was being with his family. He was a sports enthusiast, and he especially loved playing golf.
John enjoyed listening to music, traveling, visiting the Caribbean, and spending time at his home in Florida.
John is survived by four children:, Marnie B. D'Orazio and her husband Tom of Limerick, J. Scott Detwiler and his wife Robin of Norristown, Jennifer Crawford and her husband Ron of Hatfield and Susan Lane of Lansdale; six grandchildren: J. Scott Detwiler Jr., Nickolas J. Detwiler, Crystal L. Bessey, Avery Crawford, Emily Crawford and Jayda Grace Boyd; and three great-grandchildren: Angelina, Dylan and Jorden. He is also survived by two sisters, Carolyn Nilson and her husband Noel of Cleveland, Ohio and Jeanne DeYcaza and her husband Manuel of Forest Hills, N.Y.; and three nieces and nephews: Eric Nilson, Kristen Dockendorff and Carla DeYcaza.
Friends may greet the family at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2011 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1000 West Main Street, Lansdale. A service to celebrate the life of John will be held at 2 p.m. at the church. Interment will follow in the Trinity Lutheran Church Columbarium.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John's name to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, 125 South 9th St., Suite 202, Phila., PA 19107, in honor of his late wife, Jean. Arrangements are by Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Lansdale.

May peace become a heartbeat to the family and they are dwelling in the grief at this time. I remember him in his younger years and remember how nice he was.. Pray's and thought's to all if his family.
