Albert Condusta Obituary

DALLAS — Master Chief Petty Officer Albert Dominic Condusta, USN, retired, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Wednesday, July 8, 2020, at Mercy Center, Dallas.

He was born in 1925, in Parsons, a son of the late Domonick and Mary Pachushka Condusta. He attended Coughlin High School, served in the military from 1943 to 1973, and was conferred honorable medals for his service during World War II, the Korean War and Vietnam War.

During his time in the military, he met his wife while stationed in Philadelphia and traveled to numerous countries throughout the world. Together they had five children and established homes in various states throughout his career. In his last years in the USN, he was a recruiter in the Wilkes-Barre area, helping men and women find their place in the Navy.

After his proud service to his country ended, Albert loved to travel across the country in the family RV, as is documented in his many diaries. He was also a frequent visitor of Atlantic City and Las Vegas and always left the craps table with a pocket full of chips. His family will remember the many adventures with their father; relocating when he was reassigned and the vacations afterwards seeing his many favorite U.S. historical sites.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Mary Buck Condusta, son, Dominic A. Condusta, grandson, Jerome Prawdzik Jr., brothers, Frank, Michael and Samuel Condusta, and sisters, Mary Vincenti, Rose Rafalko, Angie Barnes and Catherine Condusta.

Surviving are his sister, Josephine Condusta; children, Linda Condusta, of Newport Township, Brenda Pavill and her husband, Martin, of Chase, James Condusta and his wife, Janet, of Rome, Patricia Survilla and her husband, Joseph, of Mountain Top; grandchildren, Christina Prawdzik, Joseph Prawdzik and his wife, Jill, Dominic Condusta Jr., and his wife, Danielle, Dennis Condusta and his wife, Arielle, Hunter Condusta, Amie Survilla Alberico and her husband, Donald, Anthony Survilla, Ashley Pavill; great-grandchildren, Vada Lazaro, Damian Lazaro, Joseph Prawdik Jr., Ezra Condusta, Sloane Condusta, Charlie Condusta, Caitlyn Rose Blaine.

The family would like to thank the staff of Mercy Center for the excellent care and compassion they showed Albert while he was a resident.

Private funeral services will be held. Interment with military honors will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township.

Memorial donations may be made to: Mercy Center, P.O. Box 370, Dallas, PA 18612, or to veteransfamiliesunited.org.

Chief Condusta recruited me into the USN IN 1971. In life the gift of insight, the ability to develop potential and convey confidence is truly a blessing. The synchronicity of both are paths were brief but very substantial. He is in all our hearts. My sympathy.

Chief Condusta came to Marymount High School in 1969 or 1970, the year of my graduation, as a Navy recruiter. I've never forgotten how passionate he was about the Navy and the work he was doing. I spoke about him to my Navy students over the years with great respect and admiration. He left an indelible impression on me and I thank him for his service.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time. I have known Mr. Condusta and his family for many years. He served his country with dignity and pride throughout the years. I felt privileged to have the opportunity to be in the company of the Condusta family on many occasions and be surrounded by their love and caring for each other and the respect they had for their parents. I know Mr. Condusta and his wife Mary were caring parents and took pride that they raised their children to be the family-oriented adults they've become. God Bless Mr. Condusta. I'm sure he is feeling blessed to now be with his wonderful wife, Mary, and their son, Dominic. My heartfelt sympathy and love to the entire family.
