WILKES-BARRE — Gregory W. Javer, 56, of Wilkes-Barre, formerly of Harveys Lake, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Dec. 1, 2024, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born March 29, 1968, in Wilkes-Barre, Gregory was a graduate of Lake-Lehman High School and later earned his degree from King's College. Gregory lived a life filled with knowledge, humor and devotion to those he held dear.
Gregory is survived by his loving mother, Shirley Javer; his brother, Anthony Javer and Anthony's wife, Lynn Javer; his niece, Jocelyn Javer; his nephew, Michael Javer; his devoted partner of 18 years, Jennifer Rosario; and his beloved daughter, Elyse Rosario.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Javer.
A passionate admirer of Ed Wood Jr., he combined his love of film with his dedication to research and writing, leaving his mark as an author, director and producer. He found joy in life's simple pleasures — reading, spending time with family and delving into thought-provoking documentaries.
To know Gregory was to know someone truly one of a kind — someone so special for so many reasons. He was a loyal friend, unique and endlessly brilliant. His sense of humor, positive energy, and kind, patient nature left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. To his loved ones, Gregory was much more than a friend — he was a source of joy, unconditional love and lasting inspiration, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Gregory's memory will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends.
Future services will be announced.

Greg started as a teacher to me when I first started at Penn Foster. Later, I had the pleasure of getting to work alongside him training others. He was an amazing teacher and I will always remember his stories about OJ Simpson's shoes and Ed Wood. Rest in peace, Greg. You will be dearly missed.

Not to offend any of the managers/team leads I've had previously but he was hands down the BEST. He taught me SO much, and was such a kind soul. I'm happy to have seen him back and June and was able to tell him how much he helped me in my professional career. He will never be forgotten. Thank you Greg.
