I am heart broken ,I did not find out about this until after the new year or I would have attended his service. He was the most honest person I ever met and he loved his family and country. Never would I take any of my vehicles anywhere but to Joes garage, If Joe didn't do the work I needed then I asked him to recommend someone . We had many conversations about every thing including poliyics which we really agreed on. He will be missed RIP Joe.

Joe laid down his wenches for the last time but his memory will aways be in that garage. I did business with Joe for 36 years. In those year he was always a straight shooter. He welcomed you with his smile, never seen Joe down. Joe was truly one of a kind. The world needs more Joe Feracks . I will miss Joe and the great conversations we had. God bless you Joe for I know you are in heaven.

I never left the garage without a smile on my face!
Joe brought happiness and laughter to everyone he came across. We talked about animals and we all know how much of an Animal lover Joe was. He loved everyone of my German Shepherds and always went out of his way to greet them. This world isn't gonna be the same without Joe. But he'll always be in my thoughts and never forgotten! Until we meet again my friend. Storm, Bear, and Star are up there waiting to keep you company.
God Bless my friend!

Debbie and family,
I grew up in Plains and we we're blessed to have Joe! Honest, smart and fair at his job and a friend to converse with, down to Earth and helpful. When my dad retired, he enjoyed visiting with Joe even when his car didn't need fixing. RIP Joe!
Blessings of peace and comfort to his family, friends and the great mechanics Joe employed.

Where do I start. I met Joe when I was 15 and broke a spark plug off in my moms car. What should have been a $300 fix was a $60 fix and it was only that much becuse he broke and easy out getting it out. From then on Joe was my familys mechanic. Over the years he became more than that, he became a friend. No matter what you were doing you always gave yourself at least a half an hour to drop off your car because you were always met with that big grin and the latest story about his bike or his boat. I never met anyone with a more welcoming smile, a giving heart, and someon who truely cared about people. This world is a lesser place without his presence. I am truely soory for the loss your family is feeling, but hopefully stories like mine and the others here will let them know how Joe being Joe touched so many people in such a positive way. I will miss him.

Our deepest condolences to his wife, Debbie. Don grew up with Joe and Joe was our mechanic. He was the best of the best! He had the utmost integrity. Joe was always joking around and smiling. I don´t think I´ve ever seen him not smiling or joking around. He was such a likable guy and so down to earth. He was a good light in this world. Joe, the world is a little dimmer without you. You will be sorely missed but not forgotten. RIP.

I was shocked to hear of Joe's passing! I live a block from the garage in Plains and have been taking cars to him since he opened, over 30 years. What a great guy, I remember the days when all you had to do was call, and before you knew it he was in the driveway looking at your car. He would always tease me about being a teacher, and having the summers off, and I would tell him after I come here I can't afford to take the family out to dinner. But he was always fair and honest, every one respected him for that. Always friendly, laughing and joking around, he made car problems seem not so bad. I feel bad because I have not seem him lately. When me and my family were growing up we all had used cars and we were always down the garage getting something done. I had been meaning to stop in and say hello to him and just did not get around to do it, I am so sorry for that, life is so short. My thoughts and prayers are with Joe's wife and family! You will always be missed, but always in our hearts. Rest in Peace Joe.
Your friend and neighbor

Dear Debbie, I wouldn't be surprised if your mother was one of the first, residing in our spiritual home, to greet her Joey. I can see her Joey, not wanting to loose a moment, start her with the joking fodder he knew so well how to use to resume the game of razzing they affectionately played. Deb, remembering the many holidays filled with love & humor may ease a little, the heart rending loss of today but for now, nothing can replace the man who completed you. God bless you & give you the strenght to endure. Lean on those who love you both...... God speed Joe, a truly good man!

With the passing of Mr. Joe Ferack, northeastern Pennsylvania has lost one of its true unsung heroes.
From his popular auto service garage on Helen Street in Plains, Joe touched the lives of countless people who had known him.
He had a quick conservative wit, loved local history, and generally showed a Mark Twain style sense of humor.
He was a good man. I personally witnessed Joe consul a young guy who had spent his savings on a car that turned out to be a lemon.
He helped the kid out by buying that mess of a car, and help find him a good one. That's the way Joe was and that's just one
example of his kindheartedness.
To Debbie, Joe's wife, and his family, my family and I express sincerest condolences.
