Robert Delaney Jr.

R obert M. Delaney Jr., 51, of Edwardsville, died Wednesday at his home.
Born January 5, 1956, in Kingston, he was a son of Mary T. McCarthy Delaney, of Kingston, and the late Robert M. Delaney. Robert was a 1974 graduate of Bishop Hoban High School, Wilkes-Barre. He was formerly employed by Harris Semiconductor in Mountain Top.
Robert was a communicant at Saint Ignatius Church and was a volunteer firefighter for the Preston Hose Company and dedicated blood donor.
An infant brother preceded him in death.
Surviving in addition to his mother are sisters and brothers Mary and her husband, Charles Smith, of Wilkes-Barre; Noreen and her husband, Johnnie Lyles, of Sanford, Florida; Monsignor Michael Delaney, of Scranton; Alice and her husband, Alvie Sutton, of Chase; Patrick and his wife, Melynda Delaney, of Swoyersville; Therese Harrison, of Edwardsville; John Delaney, of Luzerne; William Delaney, of Bloomsbury, New Jersey; nieces and nephews Charlie and Rachel Smith; Regina and Joshua Sutton; Jade and Devin Confletti; Neil and Alimae Harrison; and Peter and Keith Delaney.
Funeral will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. from M.J. McLaughlin Company, 416 Wyoming Ave., Kingston, with funeral Mass at 11 a.m. in Saint Ignatius Church.
Interment will be in St. Vincent’s Cemetery, Plymouth. Friends may call Friday 5 to 8 p.m.
