To the entire Merolla family, the children, grand children, and great grand children, and to his close friends. I send my deepest condolences and sympathy. Turk was one of the kindest and caring person I knew. He loved his family and was always there for them. He always seemed to know what to say at the right time, and provided guidance to those who asked for it. He is one of the last great american heros in my book. We will all certainly miss him but also we are thankful to have such a nice individual to have been apart of our lives.

Dear Tommy, Janet and family,
So sorry to hear about your loss. I know that you can take comfort in the fact that you had his love and companionship for so many years--although I know it doesn't lesson the loss but it does provide so many wonderful memories for both you and your children. You are in our thoughts and will send up a special prayer.
Love, Beth and TJ Ward

I am saddened to hear about the loss of this undoubtedly fine man. I was surprised to find out that he like so many men of his generation was a WWII combat veteran, but in particular his having served actively in the bloody Pacific Campaign as a noble and very brave United States Marine. Rear Admiral Chester Nimitz probably said it best when he described the Marines' actions during one of the famous battles of the aforementioned campaign as such: "Uncommon valor was a common virtue." Many weekends of mine were spent as young boy at this man's home at Mountain Lake, and I never once realized I was in the presence of a true American hero. Semper Fi. Rest in Peace Marine.

To the Merolla family my deepest sympathies. So sorry for your loss.
Turk & Anne were good friends with
my Mom (Marie Keeney Walp). I was
invited to their place in the Poconos
in the mid 80's! Beautiful! Again, so
sorry.
