CORY MILLER Obituary
45, of Lancaster, Ohio died Sunday, January 27, 2019 of an apparent heart attack while attending the National Wing T Football Clinic in Pittsburgh, PA. He was born in Zanesville on March 26, 1973, to Randy and Jane (Plummer) Miller of Fredericktown. He married the former Jamie George on June 19, 2004, and she survives. He was a 1991 graduate of Highland High School in Sparta, OH; a 1995 graduate of Bowling Green University and was currently a teacher at Lancaster High School and a football coach. He had a passion for football, enjoyed traveling; especially to New Orleans and the Adirondacks.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by his sister, Lisa (Steve) Weaver of Bellville, OH; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Carl and Krys George of Massillon; two brothers-in-law, Scott George of Massillon and Joe (Sami) George of Macedonia; niece and nephew, Olivia and Jackson George; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and his dog, Sally (his graduate assistant).
Services will be held on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the Smith-Varns Funeral Home, 115 Andreas Drive, Sugarcreek, with Mark Tomallo officiating. Friends may call on Saturday from 12:00 (Noon) – 2 p.m. at the funeral home prior to services. Memorial services will be held on Sunday, February 3, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Lancaster High School, 1312 Granville Pike in Lancaster, OH. Mr. Miller was one of the best teachers I've had so far. All of his stories that he told about trips he's been on and about the places he's been to was always interesting to me. Last year in which I was a sophomore, I had him as my small study group teacher, and each day was great having him as the teacher in that class

I will always remember Cory for the passion he showed in his teaching and coaching. I learned many things coaching underneath him, and always enjoyed our conversations off the field. I have many fond memories and experiences thanks to him, and I will always be grateful.

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of Cory. I coached with Cory at Perry High School and remember his sense of humor and what a good person and coach he was. He will be missed. Prayers to all of his family and friends.

I subbed in Corys class when he taught at General Sherman. He was always a kind and caring teacher.
Loved the day when he taught his class of boys how to make Italian meatballs, they were delicious! Will miss seeing him in the halls at the high school. May you enjoy the rewards of Heaven Cory!

Corey and I worked across the hall from one another when we were both teachers at General Sherman. I will not forget our conversations about Science, History and of course, football.
