Harold L. McCahill
67, of New Philadelphia, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family on April 8, 2017. Born in Dennison on June 24, 1949, he was the son of the late Dennis and Mary (Reichman) McCahill.He was a 1967 graduate of Tuscarawas- Warwick High School and continued to educate himself in the electric field. Harold was a master electrician working for 20 years at Fenton Brothers and then retiring from Wood Electric in 2011 where he served for more than 16 years. Harold's love for life, people, story-telling, and his family will long be cherished by those who knew him. He was loved serving his church family at LifeWay Church.
He will be deeply missed by his family including his wife, the former Mary J. Massarelli who he married on June 5, 1971; sons, Douglas, Jamie (Ashley), and Corey (Rebecca) McCahill, all of New Philadelphia; his grandchildren, Christian, Gage, Dylan, Jasper, Maxx, and Nora; his siblings, Shirley Sinkovich, Barb (Roy) Schilling, Karen (Dave) Green, and Ronnie (Marti) McCahill; and numerous other family members.
In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in passing by his siblings, Mary Lou Ridgeway, Janie Urfer, Charles "Chip" McCahill, Elizabeth Ann Craig, and Dennis "Gooter" McCahill.
Visitation will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home on Tuesday from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. A service celebrating Harold's life will be held in Lifeway Church on Wednesday beginning at 2 pm. Burial will follow in Sharon Moravian Church Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to LifeWay Church, 742 Cookson Ave SE, New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663.
