Ruth Phillips Obituary
WEST WINFIELD - Ruth C. Phillips, 73, passed away on Sunday, January 27, 2019 at Valley Health Services in Herkimer.
She was born on June 16, 1945 in Oneonta, NY, the daughter of Naomi (Simmons/Holbrook) Livingston (and step-daughter of Raymond Livingston) and was a graduate of Otego Central High School. Ruth was employed for many years in the dietary department of the Mohawk Valley Nursing Home in Ilion. On June 15, 1969, she was united in marriage to Alfred J. Phillips in Morris, NY and shared a blessed union of nearly 32 years before his passing on March 6, 2001. Ruth was a member of the Bridgewater Senior Citizens.
Ruth was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved spending time with her family and was blessed with a great sense of humor. Ruth enjoyed her plants and indoor gardening, drawing, dancing, music, playing cards and doing word search puzzles. She was a blessing to everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Surviving are her daughters, Darlene Miller (Peter Lawrence), Sherburne and Dawn Phillips (Craig Pryor), Dunnellon FL; son, Scott (Michelle) Phillips, Little Falls; grandchildren, Matthew (Dana) Miller, Olivia Miller (David Austin), Hailey (Jacob) Brenan and Lauren Phillips (Matt Borden) and Erica Phillips (Dalton Conklin); great-grandchildren, Kaylee Miller and Brantley Borden; sister, Roberta (Ken) Constable; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother and step-father, Naomi and Raymond Livingston; and grandson, Ronald Miller, Jr.
Ruth's family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of Valley Health Services for their care and compassion.
In keeping with Ruth's wishes, there will be no public visitation. A celebration of Ruth's life will be held at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are with Dimbleby Funeral Homes, Inc., 365 W. Main St., West Winfield.
Contributions in Ruth's name may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 110 Lomond Ct., Utica, NY 13502.
