I had the pleasure of knowing Ann I was once one of her caregivers. She was the most loving person I have ever met. I loved talking to her about everything. I will miss her.

I met Annie B back in 1980 when I worked at Social Services with her niece Patty Ahl. She was a legend to all of the state workers. Patty, I am very sorry to hear of your loss. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Sincerely, Cyndi Scott Jones

From 1973 until the Department was broken up in 1998 I was the principal attorney at NYSDSS assigned to work with the Financial Services Units. By the time I assumed my responsibilities as legal liaison, Anne was already held in uniquuely high esteem, both professionally and personally, by virtually all employees of the Department and by literally hundreds of other NYS employees and employees of other NYS agencies, agencies in other States, and numerous county, municipal, and federal agencies. I never met a person who had extensive contacts with Ann who ever said a mean word about her, and met literally hundreds who gave her unsolicited praise. Not only was her work always to the highest professional standard, accurate and well organized to the nth degree, but she did her work with such a cheerful and cooperative attitude that Ann unerringly impressed both those to whom she reported and those who reported to her. I could repeat accolades she got from Tom Walsh, Tom Giroux, Sheldon Jaffee, Dan Klepak, and other figures of rank and accomplishment in State Government for whom Ann worked, but that would present only one of the admirable facets of Ann's story. Limiting myself to one, as I've already gone on too long, I guess the facet of Ann's that I think presents her truly admirable character in its most remarkable light, was the fact that even the people Ann had to fire - and there were a few - didn't have a bad word to say about her, at least the ones I met, but, rather, regretted being a disappointment to her. What a great lady! It's times like this I envy the strong faith Ann carried through her life, because then I'd find solace in knowing she'd gone on to her just rewards. My regards to her nieces and nephews, she loved you all and I know you, too, must sorrow at losing one of the kindest and most remarkable people who passed through your life. Sincerely, Dave Kellogg

Aunt Anne you will be missed! You taught us so many things in life; how to golf, keep our elbows off the table and how to laugh like ladies. Even we joked with about some of these things, they did stick with us through the years. You always had a smile on your face and you loved to socialize. Your memory will live on in us. I love you, Patty:)

I was an business associate of Anne's and a friend for more than 50 years. She was my early mentor and I could not have a better, more caring friend. I was nearby when Bob died and was amazed at her strength as well as compassion. She was a thoroughly amazing person and we are all poorer for her passing
