Armond Mastroianni Obituary

Mastroianni, Armond SCHENECTADY Armond X. Mastroianni, 46, of Karenwald Lane, Schenectady entered into eternal rest on Friday, January 18, 2008 after a long courageous battle with cancer at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady. Born on April 11, 1961 in Schenec-tady, Armond was the son of the late Pasquale Mastro-ianni and Mary (Lazzari) Mastroianni of Schenectady. He was a graduate of Bishop Gibbons High School in Schenectady and also attended Norwich University in Vt. Armond was president and owner of Mastroianni Bros. Bakery Inc. He succeeded his father Pasquale, whom with his seven brothers founded the family business in 1923. Armond was a very generous, humble and passionate man with a love for his business. He was a member of St. Anthony's Church in Schenectady. Besides his father, he is predeceased by one sister, Aurelia Miller and his father-in-law, David W. Small. Besides his mother, Armond is survived by his wife, Tracy Small Mastroianni, whom he married September 29, 1991; two brothers, Dr. Anthony Mastroianni (Susan) of Schenectady, Pasquale Mastroianni Jr. (Carmel) of Guilderland; three sisters, Laura Salvatore (Dr. Richard) of Saratoga Springs, Josepha Abba (Charles) of Delmar and Mary Drescher (Peter) of Fayetteville, N.Y.; son-in-law of Kathleen Susko (James) of Mechanicville; brother-in-law of Mitchell Miller of Schenectady and Susan D. Cincotta (John) of Rocky Point, N.Y.; also survived by 22 nieces and nephews and one great nephew. The family would like to extend a thank you to his brother Dr. Anthony Mastroianni, Dr. Sorrentino, Dr. Goodman, Dr. Mika, Dr. Warner, Dr. Smith and the nurses, doctors and staff at Ellis Hospital ICU for his care during his illness. A Funeral Mass will be Tuesday 11 a.m. at St. Anthony's Church, 331 Seward Place in Schenectady. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Internment will be in St. Cyril and Method Cemetery in Rotterdam. Contributions can be made in Armond's memory to Norman Vincent Peele, 39 Seminary Hill Road Carmel, NY 12211. Arrangements are by the Bond Funeral Home Broadway and Guilderland Avenue, Schenectady.

Tracy, my deepest condolences and sympathy to you and yours for the loss of your beloved Armand. He truly was a great guy who was loved and respected by EVERYBODY! I'll always remember his generosity and the time he let me drive the Porsche 911 with him to Montreal! What a tremendous thrill it was! He took a chance just to make me happy and it shows just how selfless and generous he was. May he rest in peace.

Armond endured a fight that few people could have endured as long as he did. Tracy, it was a long battle for you as well as you supported him every step of the way. As a high school friend, Armond was the toughest kid I knew but also a true friend. He transfused his high energy into his work ethic and it showed in his success.
