Herr, Brian Paul
CASTLETON - Brian Paul Herr, 41, died on November 18, 2023. He was born and grew up in Castleton, N.Y. He attended Maple Hill High School, during which time achieved the rank of Eagle Scout.
He then completed his Emergency Medical Technician and Paramedic/Firefighter education. His interest in helping others started at a young age and continued through his adult life. He was employed by the Polk County Fire Rescue.
He loved building Legos with Julian and Andrew, his sons. Fantasy football was another love, organizing teams for friends and family each year. From a young age, he brought every stray animal he came across home and loved it. Using his grandfather's barometer, he tracked the weather. Playing his trumpet showcased his love of music. He found his home with Polk County Fire Rescue, which he considered family.
Brian was predeceased by his father, Ken Kishlicky; and his grandparents, Gus and Fran Buckley.
Survivors include his mother, Susan Kishlicky; his two sons, Julian and Andrew Herr, and their mother, Lynda Pinilla. He is survived by his aunts, Patricia and Kathleen Buckley; his cousins, Nicole Peterson and Cassandra Tatro. He is also survived by Julian and Andrew's grandparents, Gonzalo and Carmen Pinilla; aunts and uncles, Richard and Margarita Pinilla, Sandra and Sarkis Morales, Jerry and Christina Pinilla; and cousins, Javier Morales, Sophia and Oscar Pinilla and Alex Pinilla.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his calling hours Wednesday, December 6, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 1:00 in the Rockefeller Funeral Home, 165 Columbia Tpk., Rensselaer. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery Castleton, N.Y.
