Vesta L. Herr

Vesta L. (Phenegar) Herr, 91, of Strasburg, PA, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2026, at Legends of Lancaster where she lived for the last 2½ years. She was the wife of the late Chester “Chet” G. Herr who passed away May 20, 2020.

Born in Strasburg Township, she was the daughter of the late S. Roy and Mary (Eyman) Phenegar.

Vesta worked for Fulton Bank for 53½ years which is where she met Chet who was Vice President of Operations.

She was a faithful member of First Presbyterian Church of Strasburg, and she enjoyed knitting,

Vesta’s family includes her siblings, Richard A. Phenegar of Myrtle Beach SC, Evelyn A. Foulk of Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community, and Roy E. Phenegar of Spring City, PA, Veterans Center, her nephew, John R. Foulk, husband of Barbara of Strasburg, and her stepchildren, Brenda Solodky of Lancaster, and Bruce E, Herr of Georgia.

In addition to her parents and husband Chet, Vesta was predeceased by her stepson Brad H. Herr.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her graveside service on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at 2:00 pm in the old section of Strasburg Mennonite Cemetery (beside the church) 1514 Village Road, Strasburg, PA 17579, with The Rev. Robert K. Bronkema officiating.
