Catherine Lowden Obituary

TROY Catherine Farnham Lowden, 89, of Elmgrove Avenue in Troy, died Sunday, October 8, 2006 at her home. She was wife of the late Leslie V. Lowden Sr. Born in East Boston, Mass., daughter of the late Edgar Swain Farnham and Maude Costa Farnham, she resided in Colonie for 20 years before moving to Troy two years ago. Mrs. Lowden was a homemaker. She is the mother of Leslie (Katherine) Lowden of Troy, Richard (Deborah) Lowden of Iowa and Kenneth (Sharon) Lowden of Colo.; grandmother of Leslie Lowden III, Catherine Lineback, Margaret Smith, Richard Lowden II, Christopher Lowden, Melissa Williams, Alisha Lowman, Craig Lowden, Andrew Lowden, Allison Gunn; and the late Nathan Lowden; aunt of Mary Giasullo of Winthrop, Mass. Mrs. Lowden is also survived by many great-grandchildren. Funeral services, led by her son, Richard, will be held at the McNulty Funeral Home, 147 Hudson Avenue, Green Island on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in Memory's Garden in Colonie. Calling hours will be on Wednesday from 9 to 10 a.m. prior to the services. Because of the beautiful care given to Catherine by the staff of Community Hospice of Rensselaer County, the family would prefer that contributions be made to Hospice at 295 Valley View Blvd., Rensselaer, NY 12144. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Millie Kordana, who showed so much love and care to the entire family.
