Celestino N. Faginas

Faginas, Celestino N. NASSAU Celestino Nova Faginas, 88, of Nassau, passed away on April 23, 2015, at Samaritan Hospital in Troy. Celestino was born in Spain and later served in the United States Merchant Marines as an engine room mechanic. He served from 1939 to 1953, and later went to work for Greyhound in 1955 before retiring in 1989. Mr. Faginas loved to play dominoes, tinker with different projects, and socialize with his family and friends. He was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He leaves his children, Carmen Angela Faginas Starr of Downey, Calif., Sarah Richfield of Lancaster, Calif., Nancy Faginas Cody of Whitter, Calif., Celestino S. Faginas of Union Beach, N.J., Aquilina Faginas of Towson, Md., Katrina B., Christen J., and Stephan O. Faginas, all of New Lebanon; grandchildren, Valerie Bankhead of Oceanside, Calif., Rachelle Bankhead of Moonpark, Claif., Trevor Richfield of Lancaster, Calif., Matthew Starr of Whittier, Rachel and James Cody of Whittier, Celestino and Jocelyn Faginas of Union Beach and Hayden Willow Faginas of New Lebanon. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Scotty Houston of Oceanside and James D. Starr of Downey, and longtime friend Carolyn Agan. Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
