Diane Whitehead Obituary

Whitehead, Diane M. ROTTERDAM Diane M. Whitehead, 52, of North Crest Court, died Tuesday, December 11, 2007 at the Inn at St. Peter's Hospital, after a brief illness. Diane was born in Schenectady on September 15, 1955, the daughter of the late Anthony and Bianca Gizzi Rotundo. She graduated from Schalmont High School, class of 1973. She earned her associate's degree from Schenectady Community College, where she was a dean's list student. Diane started her career 27 years ago with Schenectady County; she is the current fiscal coordinator for Schenectady County Job Training Agency. She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Assumption Church. Diane is survived by her devoted daughter, Jennifer Goldie of Rotterdam; her adoring grandchildren, Kaitlyn Goldie and Ryan Goldie; her loving siblings, Barbara and her husband Jerry Lipinski of Myrtle Beach, S.C. and the late Anthony R. Rotundo Jr.; sister-in-law of Wendy Rotundo of St. Cloud, Fla.; Marlene and Johnnie Whitehead of Rotterdam; Candy Rivera-Whitehead of Cohoes and Paul Whitehead of Latham; her dear friends, Debbie and Larry Smith of Glenville. Many nieces and nephews also survive. Services will be held Friday at 8 a.m. from the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, Union at N. Jay Streets, then to Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Princetown Road, Rotterdam, where a Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Schenectady. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made in Diane's memory to the Community Hospice, 1411 Union St., Schenectady, NY 12308.

The time I spent with Diane and her family and friends is a bittersweet memory that I will cherish always. I wish that our meeting and the circumstances were different. Diane... what a truly amazing and brave woman! And to Jen. The apple doesnt fall far from the tree. God Bless you all.
