Dominic Pasinella Obituary

Pasinella, Dominic J. "Beefy" Sr. TROY Dominic J. Pasinella Sr., "Beefy", 77 of Troy, passed into eternal rest on Monday, November 8, 2021, in the comfort of his son's home surrounded by his loving family. Dom was born in Troy and was the son of the late Albert and Jennie Merola Pasinella. He was the loving husband of 53 years to Carol Moran Pasinella of Troy. He was a faithful communicant of St. Augustine's Church in Lansingburgh. Dominic graduated from The Lasalle Institute in Troy and served our country in the Army during the Vietnam War. He retired from the Watervliet Arsenal after many years of service. Dominic loved coaching and watching his four children play sports. As the years went on, watching his grandchildren play sports became the highlight of his days. Beefy always looked forward to Friday night football games at Lansingburgh High School. He enjoyed watching his favorite teams, the Brooklyn Dodgers, N.Y. Yankees, N.Y. Giants and N.Y. Rangers. Recently, Dominic was honored and inducted into the sports Hall of Fame from the Friends of 112th Street. But for Dominic, the most important time was the time he spent with his family, especially cooking Sunday dinners. It wouldn't be a Sunday dinner without his family hearing him yell, "Let's go!" He was honored and proud to be called Poppy by his beloved grandchildren. Dominic loved and enjoyed his Thursday morning coffee club with his best buddies and cousins, Angelo, Tony, Joey, Dave and Bobby. We can only imagine the heavenly reunion Beefy had with his dear friends, Nicky, Mag, and John. In addition to his wife, Carol, Dominic is also survived by his children, Dominic (Marjorie) Pasinella Jr. of Melrose, Stephen E. (Michele), Kristen E. Pasinella and Jeffrey A. (Michele) Pasinella all of Lansingburgh. He was the very proud Poppy of Tyler (Amanda), Samantha, Halee, Gabriele, Kyly and Adriana; and brother of Tina Pasinella, Caroline (Richard) Driscoll both of Troy, and Anna Rose (Anthony) Gross of North Greenbush. He was predeceased by this brothers, Anthony and Joseph Pasinella. Dom is also survived by his sister-in-law Beverly Pasinella and several nieces, nephews, godchildren and many friends. Dominic touched so many lives and he will be deeply missed by so many. Dominic's family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to the Community Hospice of Rensselaer County. Especially to his nurses, Kim and Wendy, for the wonderful care and kindness shown to Dominic and his family. The family would also like to extend their gratitude to Lynne, Zerlina, Debbie, and Dick for their compassion and support. A special thanks to Dr. Luke Nightingale and family friend, Dr. Robert Benton. The funeral service for Dominic will be held on Monday at 9 a.m. at The Bocketti Funeral Home, 336 Third St., Troy and at 10 a.m. in St. Augustine's Church, 25 115th St., Troy where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will follow in The Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville at 1 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 3-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the Lansingburgh Boys and Girls Club, 501 4th Ave., Troy, NY, 12182 and The Community Hospice of Rensselaer County, 295 Valley View Blvd., Rensselaer, NY, 12144.

Beefy was my hero growing up in south troy, he was the
player who would do the picking of the sides, because he was the best player in football, baseball..,and basketball
I loved when he picked me on his side, accept football, in washington park he would say ok Joey you are going to score a touchdown and he would grab my belt buckle and pull me as I was getting hit on both sides.we had a lot of fun, and he taught me a lot about sports. I was fortunate to grow up with him. God rest his soul. Joey

Dear Mrs. Pasinella, and all your Family,
Please know that I will dearly miss your Dominic. I always knew that he was a very special individual. Whether it was at LHS cheering for his children or continuing that enthusiasm as he supported his grandchildren, Dominic was their biggest fan.
I will forever treasure our Sunday morning calls as we went back and forth about the latest Giants/Eagles game.
Whenever I think of the Pasinella family, I know that they are a caring, giving and loving family. And, that is your Dominic´s legacy. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, veteran and a friend to all.
I will miss him.
