Elizabeth Proctor Obituary

Proctor, Elizabeth
COHOES - Elizabeth M. Proctor, 43, of Cohoes, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2024, at home. Liz spent many years working with the Sisters of Saint Joseph at the Provincial House in Latham. She loved her time there and forged strong bonds with the sisters. Liz also worked as a director of food services at several different companies in the capital region, but her true calling was plants and horticulture. She worked most recently at Valoze's Greenhouse, in Cohoes, where she could spend her days around plants and share her knowledge of them with others. She loved every aspect of working at the greenhouse from caring for the plants to the people she worked with there. Liz's home was full of plants, exotic and otherwise, and she enjoyed growing and caring for as many different types as possible. While plants were her joy, her dogs, Stella, and the late Vivian, were her heart and best friends. Liz was kind, extremely funny, and will be missed by so many.
Liz was the cherished daughter of Sue King of Clifton Park and the late Bob Proctor of Clifton Park; the beloved sister of Joseph Proctor (Kelly) of Bluffton, SC, and Christopher Proctor of Cohoes; the adored granddaughter of Patricia King of Saratoga; and the loving aunt of Miles and Declan. Liz is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
In addition to her father, Liz was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Bob and Jacqueline Proctor of Crescent; maternal grandfather, John King of Titusville, Fla., and stepfather, Al Phoenix of Halfmoon.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2024, from 4-6 p.m. at the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Rt. 9, in Clifton Park, N.Y. 12065. A prayer service will be at 5:30 p.m., in the funeral home with Deacon Andrew Grebe of St. Mary's Church in Crescent officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Liz's memory to the Animal Protective Foundation, 53 Maple Avenue, Glenville, N.Y. 12302, https://www.animalprotective.org/dev/
