Sneck, Erye Corland Hayner WEST SAND LAKE Erye Corland Hayner Sneck, 85, passed in the arms of her loving children, Monday, November 14, 2016. Born in the Town of Brunswick and daughter of the late Jennie Akin Hayner and Allen Alonzo Hayner Sr. Erye shared life with twin sister, Elsie Hayner Shudt of Brunswick, Lloyd A. Hayner (deceased), Allen A. Hayner Jr. of W. Monroe, La. and David Z. Hayner of Sharon Springs, N.Y. Erye attended elementary school in Center Brunswick, Lansingburgh High School, class of '49 and was an active member of Russell Sage's class of '53. She married the love of her life, the late Henry James Sneck in 1952; had three children, Mitchell D. Sneck, LTC, U.S.A.F. (Ret.) of Henderson, Nev. James D. Sneck of Bradford, N.H. and Alison H. Starkey of West Sand Lake; and grandchildren, Matthew M. Sneck, Staff Sgt., U.S.A. (deceased), Michelle Sneck-Crepinsek of Houston and Harrison Sneck of Durham, N.H. Erye enriched the community as a member of the Troy Garden Club, the Junior League of Troy and the Rensselaer County Historical Society. She participated in several long-term medical studies and contributed to medical research through Rockefeller University, New York City. Erye has donated her body to the anatomical gift program at the Albany Medical College. An avid gardener and homemaker, she enjoyed tennis, gourmet dinner group, book club, rug hooking, and wine tasting with friends and her lifelong partner of 64 years, Henry J. A skilled seamstress, she knitted for family and the men and women of the National Guard deployed to Afghanistan and Iraq. Erye, a voracious reader, kept her mind sharp with crossword puzzles, word puzzles and afternoon bridge. Erye traveled extensively throughout the United Kingdom, Europe and Russia. A celebration of life will be held at Bryce Funeral Home, 276 Pawling Ave., Troy, on December 23, with visiting hours from 4 - 6:30 p.m. and a memorial service at 6:30 p.m. with Reverend Gusti Linnea Newquist, officiating. Our prayers and condolences to all of her family. Always included in their family and enjoyed the many gatherings where we were able to visit with one another. Eyre and Elsie were our favorite cousins to listen to family news. Number of Hayner Family gatherings including an ocean cruise bring out happy memories. We will truly miss her lovely smile and her words of wisdom. God Bless.

To the Hayner Family - I am sorry to hear of the passing of Erye. Anyone from Center Brunswick knew several members of the Hayner family and I was in District 5 school with her brother David. Erye sounds like she took a lot after her Mom, especially being an expert seamstress. Erye and Elsie were also in Brunswick Juvenile Grange as very young children and I was delighted to meet either Erye or Elsie (can't remember which) at the Grange during Brunswick's historical celebration several years ago. So many memories of her Mom and Dad and the Hayner family. My thoughts and prayers are with the family!
