George Kojac Obituary

Kojac, George W. COLONIE George W. Kojac, 77, passed away on Sunday, October 21, 2018, with his loving partner by his side. George was born in Queens to the late James and Johanna Kojac on June 28, 1941. George was educated in Queens and he went on to receive a B.S. from Pratt Institute. He later was certified in surveying and cost estimation of construction at the Institute of Surveying and Design. He spent his life in major construction within the Greater Northeast of many large buildings, by being a manager of office engineering, chief of party, transit man, superintendent, and rod man. He went on to own his own business, DPL Construction building private homes. He will be remembered for his love of boating and hunting. He will be greatly missed. George was predeceased by his former wives, Margaret Beckman and Jane Kawalkowski. He is survived by his beloved partner, Barbara Wiedau; his daughters, Dawn Kojac and Laureen Priputen; his siblings, his sister, Barbara (Peter) Ocello and his brother, James Kojac; his granddaughter, Abby (AJ), and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, on Sunday, October 28, from 12-3 p.m. with a service to immediately follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in George's name to the Community Hospice, Gift Processing Center, 310 S. Manning Blvd., Albany, NY, 12208.
