Jean Hinkson

Hinkson, Jean Wager PLAINVIEW Jean Wager Hinkson, 69, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Friday, May 6, 2022, at Plainview Hospital on Long Island. Born on April 29, 1953, in Troy, Jean was the daughter of Yolanda Wager Comproski and the late John Wager. She was a 1971 graduate of Catholic Central High School, attending Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing to become a registered nurse before earning her Bachelor of Science in 1989. Jean worked as a registered nurse at Glen Cove Hospital for many years prior to becoming a nurse case manager. She showed a nurse's heart in the way she cared deeply for her family and friends. Jean spent most of her adult life raising her children in Plainview. She was an active member of her community, serving as the president of the local PTA for many years. Jean is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Richard Hinkson; her daughters, Elizabeth Hinkson (Angelo Luchi) and Laura (Bradley) Weston; her two granddaughters, Hazel and Evelyn Weston; her mother, Yolanda Wager Comproski; her siblings, Anne Rounds, Rita (Brian) CaoGarcia and John (Alisa) Wager; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, John Wager. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc., 276 Pawling Ave., Troy on Friday, May 13, from 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. with a funeral service to follow at 12:30 p.m. with Reverend Edward Kacerguis, officiating.
