Joseph Giuffre Obituary
ALBANY - Joseph V. Giuffre, 82, passed away on March 4, 2024. Born in Albany, he was the son of the late Austin and Mary Giuffre. Joe is survived by his wife of over 22 years, Marjorie Giuffre.
For 20 years Joe was a builder in the community. His excellent skills and attention to detail resulted in the building of many fine homes. In 1980 he began work in the Office of General Services, State of New York, Design and Construction. Joe was an Assistant Engineer in Charge and Field Inspector. Golf was a passion, as was gardening and painting.
In addition to his wife, Joe is survived by his children, Maria Cleary and Joseph L. Giuffre; and loving grandpa to Megan, Logan and Dylan; and great-granddaughter, Maggie. He is predeceased by his first wife, Alice.
Joe is also survived by Marjorie's children, Meg, Katie, Sandy, Berit and Kirsten. He was the loving Grandpa to 11 grandchildren.
Among Joe's special qualities was the kind and thoughtful way about him and his strong love and bond with all his grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, March 10, 2024, from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, N.Y. 12205. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 11, 2024, at 10am at St. Matthew's Church. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Angel's Cemetery.

I'm so sorry to hear of Joe's passing. I worked with him at OGS Design and Construction many years ago. He was a wonderful person. My sincere condolences to his family and friends.

To Joe's Family,
I am sad to read of Joe's passing. He started with OGS the same time I started with my current employer, E. W. Tompkins Co., Inc. I've been here 44 years. We worked alot together on numerous OGS projects. I could pick up the phone and dial his number without thinking. He was such a great guy. I hope your memories can carry you through this difficult time and make you all smile. He always made me smile. May Joe rest in peace and God Bless you all.

Betsy and I were Joe´s classmates at Vincentian.
He was a terrific guy and will be missed.
