Kathleen McCue Obituary

McCue, Kathleen
MEAD, Okla. - Kathleen (Werner) McCue of Mead, Oklahoma, formerly of Second Avenue Albany, passed into heaven on Monday, March 18, at 71 years of age. She was in the company of her husband of 46 years, John McCue, her four daughters, and her four grandsons.
Kathleen "Kathy," the daughter of the late James Werner and Jane (Kelly), attended Cardinal McCloskey HS and graduated in 1971. Her family were parishioners at Our Lady Help of Christians Roman Catholic Church in Albany, N.Y. Upon graduation, she took a job she loved working for the State of New York. She met the love of her life, John "Jack" McCue and they married June 18, 1977, in Saratoga, N.Y.
After the nuptials, the new couple moved to Woburn, Mass. where, side by side, they worked his family's greenhouses and garden center. In 1984, they built a summer home in Lake Luzerne, N.Y. where she loved to host her siblings, friends, and family all summer long. Shortly after Jack bought the Painted Pony Championship Rodeo, also in Lake Luzerne, N.Y. She spent rodeo nights in the bleachers watching her husband and daughters compete during the summer months.
In 1993 the family moved from Massachusetts to Ocala, Florida to accommodate the growing number of horses as each pursued their equestrian endeavors. Never a horseback rider, but an animal lover through and through! Kathy loved being in the barn, taking care of the horses, her longhorn steers, dogs and whatever animals the kids brought home. Kathy loved the outdoors and tending to her farm until sunset when she would come inside to enjoy dinner with the family.
A loving wife and mother always with a big smile and a happy outlook, Kathy welcomed everyone into her heart and home as family.
Devoted mother of Megan McCue of Woburn, Mass., Amy (Shawn) Sheffield of Mead, Okla., Karen McCue of Mead, Okla., Kelsey (Torius) Blackwell of Mead, Okla. Adored grandmother of Brayden, Bryson, Killian, and Briggs.
Dear sister of Marcia Maher of Watervliet, Mark (Judy) Werner of Fort Mill, S.C., Karla (Jeff) Patenaude of Marco Island, Fla., Marianne Werner of Watervliet.
Kathy is also survived by many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends near and far.

To Marcia and Mark, who I know and the other siblings who were younger and I did not...my deepest condolences. Kathy was a sweet girl and from what I'm reading, she had a fabulous and fulfilling life.

Kathy is very sadly missed over here in Australia. I still remember our 4th of July celebrations at our home and he infectious laugh and smile.. Kathy lent her home to my husband and I when we were in NYS. We stayed there with her beloved mother and father at her Lake Luzerne property. I grew up knowing Kathy as a happy, generous and fun loving cousin. She never changed and that is so wonderful to know. I was lucky enough to have her and her beautiful daughter Megan visit us about 6 years ago. That make me so happy to know Plus we had such a good time.. Lots of laughter and chatting about the past and her family, which she loved dearly. My heart is aching for Kathy, though I know she is up in heaven with her mom and dad, but I still can't help but miss her. My husband and I send our most sincere condolences and prayers to all the McCue and Werner family. Love Sue and Bob xxx

So many wonderful memories of times shared with Kathy & Jack. You all showed such love and compassion as you cared for her these past years. We know it wasn´t easy, but all the love she gave to you came back to her when she needed it. Great family love.
May memories of happy times be her legacy for all.
Love you, Kath; rest in peace.
