Mary Paul Obituary

Paul, Mary Lou
JOHNSONVILLE - Mary Lou (Dixson) Paul, 92, of School St., died peacefully at Saratoga Hospital, on July 7, 2025, after a brief illness. Born in Cambridge, N.Y., on September 11, 1932, daughter of the late Howard and Grace Wells Dixson, she was raised and educated in Easton, N.Y. She and her husband of 60 years, the late Nicholas Paul, moved to Johnsonville to raise their family, residing there until the time they passed.
Mary Lou enjoyed finding and reading recipes, using them to create delicious meals and desserts for her family. She was an avid bowler for over 40 years, in both Schaghticoke and Mechanicville women's leagues. Above all else, her family was the most important thing in her life, and she cherished her children, grand and great-grandchildren.
A longtime member of the Johnsonville United Methodist Church, she and Nick were married there on September 15, 1951. She was very active in the church and a former member of the Wednesday women's thrift shop.
In addition to her husband, Nick; and parents, Howard and Grace; she was predeceased by her siblings, Morris, Gilbert, Glenn, Ronald, and Richard Dixson, Virginia McGowan, Dorothy Spencer, Shirley Ratoon, Betsy Garnsey, and Muriel Conroy.
Survivors include her three children, Connie Paul (Bob Brooks), Lou Ann (John) Daurio, and Mark Paul; grandchildren, Jill (Michael) Bouchard, Ashley (Jim) Daurio, Tyler (Jessica) Daurio, Jan (Crystal) Daurio, Eric (MaryBeth Daurio); along with great-grandchildren, Kinley and Rexton. Also her sister, Marlene McClean; and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to a cremation entombment service on Friday, July 11, at 12 p.m., at the Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd., Schuylerville, N.Y. 12871. All are asked to meet at the cemetery's visitor center just inside the entrance at 11:45 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Johnsonville United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 12, Johnsonville, N.Y. 12094, in memory of Mary Lou Paul.
