Michael "Mike" McLaughlin

McLaughlin, Michael "Mike" TROY Michael Dennis "Mike" McLaughlin, 75, a longtime resident of Troy, died on Thursday, February 10, 2022, at his daughter's home after a brief illness. Born in Troy, Mike was the son of the late Daniel F. and Anna M. Zampier McLaughlin; and the husband of Patricia Martin McLaughlin for 52 years before his passing. Mike was raised in Troy and attended Troy High school. He left school to join the Army during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged with a rank of sergeant. After serving his country, he returned home to begin his career for City of Troy Department of Public Works. He retired after 30 years as an auto mechanic supervisor. Upon his retirement, he and Patricia moved to Orlando, Fla. to leave the cold weather behind them. After enjoying a few years of rest, they decided it was time to go back to work. They chose a second career and joined Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom for 15 magical years in guest services. Mike was a lifelong New York Yankees fan and also enjoyed watching NASCAR. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Dee (Donald) Rowland, Matthew and Scott Mclaughlin; his brothers, Patrick (Pearl), Kevin (Dawn) and Shawn (Amy); his grandchildren, Suzanne (Mark) Fenzl, Stephaine (Christopher) Dobert, Patrick Sunkes, Natalie and Riely Mclaughlin; and his great-grandchildren, Kaiden, Luke and Makenzie. Mike was the brother of the late Daniel F. McLaughlin Jr. Mike's family wishes to thank Marsha from the Community Hospice for her compassion and care during Mike's illness.
