Finn, Paul R. ALBANY Paul Raymond Finn, aka "The Big Kahuna," 66, died Wednesday, January 6, 2021, at his residence. He was born on April 3, 1954, in Albany to Raymond and Rosemary Finn. Paul was a loving and dutiful husband to his wife Tracy and they were together for over 30 years. He was the devoted father of Eric, Rachael, Brian (Rebecca), Jennifer (John), Allison, Steven, Kayla and Devin. Paul was the brother of Patricia (Timothy) Stevens, Gail (Anthony) Jones, Barbara (James) Spring and John Finn (Deno). He was the grandfather of Lochlain, Evelyn and David. Paul is also survived by many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Paul was a graduate of Blessed Sacrament School, Cardinal McCloskey and SUNY Albany. He enjoyed his retirement after working many years at the Albany County Department of Social Services. He loved the beach and was known to many as the "Big Kahuna." Paul spent his childhood vacationing in Cape Cod and later spent summers in Hampton Beach with his family. He loved cooking, reading, history, music, comic books, drawing and being the funniest man in the room. Paul was loved by many and will be greatly missed. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Paul's family on Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Ave., Colonie. A prayer service will be offered at 3 p.m. in the funeral home. Face masks are required and social distancing will be observed. Sorry for your loss . Paul(Nip) was my former brother in-law . He was a great athlete in his time . He held records for being the fastest runner from the city of Albany . Played many a basketball game with him and still picture him hitting a swish .I worked with Paul at beginning of my career when he was assistant director of Albany County food stamps . Paul was father to my niece Rachael Finn , nephew Eric Finn and grandfather to my great nephew Bradley Arthur Finn. It´s been many years since we have seen Paul . May his memory be a blessing. RIP.

Tracy and family, I am shocked and deeply saddened to hear of this. I am so sorry for your loss of Paul. He was one of the coolest people I have ever met. He was intelligent, caring and funny. A real people person. He was also a mentor to me. One of those people you would say " yeah, I would like to be like him". I am blessed to have copies of a few of his drawings. He loved when I brought in venison kielbasa and jerky. I already missed him here and thought of him often but I would see him from time to time outside the building. I will miss him even more now.
