At the time of his passing, he was happily married to his beloved wife of 47 years, Carmella (Gizzi) LaCivita. They were joined in matrimony on April 25, 1959 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Watervliet. Together, they raised three sons, Philip (Sonya), Joseph (Diane) and Gregory (Carol). He is survived by three grandchildren, Frances, Catherine and Louis LaCivita; his sister, Florence (Edward) Barbetta and several nieces and nephews. Philip enjoyed camping, model car and boat building and mastering his craft as a carpenter. He was employed by the Ford Motor Company in Green Island for 38 years as a carpenter and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #729 in Watervliet. Philip was a United States Army veteran and served his country during World War II. He departed on November 2, 1942 for the European Theater and had tours in Italy, Germany and France, where he participated in seven amphibious landings. He received an honorable discharge on October 2, 1945 and received the Good Conduct Medal and the European-African-Middle Eastern Service Medal. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 9 a.m. from the Parker Bros. Memorial, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet and at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Watervliet, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Family,

"It's the laughter we'll remember..."

We're sorry we can't be there in person, but you know we are there in spirit. We have wonderful memories of picnics, holidays, and shared birthday parties! But our fondest, is the laughter over a simple cup of coffee. All our love at this time, and always, and we will see you in December.

Philip,
I wasn't aware of your extentive tour of duty during WWII. Your family must have been very proud. Because of your sacrifices for our country we are able to enjoy the freedoms we have now.

May those proud memories help your family through their sorrow. May the peace of God bless all who loved you at this sad time.
