Robert Colandrea Obituary

NEWBURGH Robert Bob C. Colandrea completed his ride thru this earthly life on Saturday, July 30, 2005 with his family by his side. Born on October 22, 1945 in Cornwall, N.Y., he was an area resident all his life. He was a veteran of the Air Force. His wife/co-rider, Barbara; son, John; daughter-in-law, Robbin; granddaughter, Susan and grandson-to-be, Stephen; parents, Louis and Bernice Colandrea; brother, Ronald and wife Kathleen; mother-in-law, Elinor Johanson; a large extended family of Colandreas and Johansons and many friends across the country. He was president of the Capital Area Motorcycling School, Inc. and a Motorcycle Safety Foundation Rider Coach. He was a past Chief, and EMT for the Middle Hope Fire Department. He was a past Vice-Commodore, Marlboro Yacht Club. Bob was an avid motorcyclist and toured all 48 states and all Provinces of Canada. If there was a twisty road, he explored it. On Wednesday, the family and friends will gather at the funeral home at 9 a.m. then travel to Cedar Hill Cemetery for graveside services with Pastor Charles Gockel officiating. Two wheels are welcome. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Newburgh Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newburgh, 745 Broadway, Newburgh, NY 12550 or Food Bank of the Hudson Valley, 195 Hudson Street, Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY 12520.

My condolences to the family. I am so sorry for your loss. Bob taught me how to safely ride a motorcycle in 2000. He loved riding and he loved teaching. His students meant the world to him. I went on to become a skilled rider and thought of him often. I know now that he's riding with the Saints for sure!

God Bless,

Bob & Marie Smith

Our sincerest condolances to Barbara, John and the Colandrea family. We enjoyed our visit together in Grand Prarie, TX albeit way too short. We had hoped to plan future meetings "on the road", but evidently God has other plans for Bob.
