Thomas Connally Obituary

Connally, Thomas C.
TROY - Thomas C. Connally, 84 of Troy, passed peacefully on September 13, 2023, at the Samaritan Hospital.
Born in Troy, he was the son of the late Thomas and Florence Palso Connally and the devoted husband of Karen Sorensen Connally.
Tom was a graduate of Catholic Central High School, class of 57, and was retired from the Ford Motor Company in Green Island. He later worked for 10 years at the Knickerbocker Ice Rink in Troy.
Tom played many sports as a young man but was most known as a pitcher for fast-pitch softball. He and his brother "Ned" played for "The Foggy Bell" and other teams at 112th Street Park for many years. He was a member of the Friends of 112th Street, the Veterans of Lansingburgh, the ALL-Troy Athletic Club and the Over 30 Softball League.
Although he enjoyed sports, his favorite time was the 42 years that he shared with his family at Summit Lake. It was the best time of his life.
Survivors, in addition to his wife of 59 years, include his children, Maureen Byrne (Dan), Timothy Connally (Susan), Dennis Connally (Deanna), and Thomas Connally (Stephanie); his sister, Carol Stern; his sister-in-law, Lynne Connally; and his grandchildren, Jake Connally, Lucas Connally, Cole Connally, Chloe Connally, Casey Byrne, Broden Connally, and Abby Connally. Tom was predeceased by his brother, Edward "Ned" Connally.
The family would like to thank St. Peter's Palliative Care, Samaritan Hospital Progressive Care and the Community Hospice.
Friends are invited and may call at the Frank P. McDonald & Son Funeral Home, 870 Second Avenue (124th and 125th Streets), Lansingburgh on Monday, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a prayer service to follow. Private entombment in the Gerald B.H. Solomon National Cemetery will take place at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Lansingburgh Boys & Girls Club, 501 Fourth Ave., Troy, NY, 12182.

Karen, I remember you, Tom and the kids when we lived on East Park Place. Tom used to let me borrow his basketball to use on the court across the street. I am so sorry for your loss. Carleen McLaughlin
