BILL DODSON Obituary

DODSON Bill W. Dodson of St. Augustine passed away at home on Monday 8/8. Bill was born 11/19/43 in Welch, WV. He was the son of the late Gladys and Buster Dodson. Bill retired from Dow Chemical in 1994 after 34 years with the company. The Dodson Family lived many years in Ledyard, CT before relocating to Northern Florida. Bill loved to golf, read and watch his beloved Gator and Buckeye football games; but most of all he loved to spend quality time with his loved ones. He was an incredible Husband, Father, Grandfather and Friend to many. He is survived by the love of his life, Pegg - they had been together since she was 15 and he was 17, and were married 47 years to the day of his passing. He has 2 sons, Chad and Bret, who are forever grateful for his example, generosity and love. He was and still is loved dearly by many. Bill also had 4 incredible grandchildren that lit up his face and that he loved dearly. Chad Jr, Holden, Preston and Fletcher will miss Poppa Bill immeasurably. There will be a celebration of Bill's life at 2:30PM Sunday 8/14 at The Saint Johns Golf and Country Club. Casual dress please. Please hug your loved ones and tell them how much you love them and send donations to the American Heart Association in lieu of flowers. Please Sign the Guestbook @ Jacksonville.com

Peggy, I am so sorry to hear about Bill's passing. Its been a long time since I have seen you both...I think it was the 1982 school reunion. You take good care and may God Bless you and your family during this very difficult time. My wife and I moved to Amelia Island 2 years ago after living all our lives in Huntington. We both retired from education...I was a High School Administrator and Supervisor and Diane retired as a High School Counselor. You take good care...and again...I am sadden for your loss.
