Karen-
David and I shared many experiences and stories together. We talked about work challenges, we talked about Gator football, we talked about family and we talked about friendship. David taught me many lessons that I will always cherish but most importantly David was always, always a shining example of keeping our priorities in order. He lived to serve his fellow man. He loved his family and reflected that in his every word and action. I'm blessed that we were friends and will strive to honor his example.
Laurie and I will miss David and pray for your family in this time of sorrow for healing and peace of mind. May God bless you all.

Karen, I worked in Benefits at RS&H when David was first diagnosed. He was so positive and got strength from his loving family. You may not remember, but you and I spoke several times. I hope you'll accept my deepest sympathy. David was loved and will be missed by many.

Karen and family, the service last night was a fitting memorial for David. Although it has been some years since we have seen you or talked, we will always remember the good times we had at the Sans Souci Baseball Association. Those were good times and we remember David as a kind and good gentleman and a fine coach. God bless you in this time. Go Gators!!!

Karen,
I want you to know that you and your entire family are in my prayers. I pray for God to pour out his grace, peace and love upon all of you.
I got to know David fairly well since he came to Jones Edmunds and we used to share a lot about doctors and treatments since my wife Judy has been going through breast cancer treatment.
I am going to miss David. He is the REAL DEAL. There was nothing phony or put on about David. He was a kind, caring, loving person who loved God and his family above all else. It was a privilege for me to know David and be his friend. He was always positive and always was willing to help with any problem I had whether it be professional or personal.
He was a profound witness for Christ in this world and I can see him now in Heaven smiling down upon us.
Take care and God bless you.

Karen,
It's been many years and you may not remember me, but I remember you and went to high school with David, and I am so deeply sorry for your loss. Elizabeth was very young the last time I saw you (she was in kindergarten with my son, Brandon Hight). Nathan Rudin's comments were so perfect! I remember David's constant smile and happiness! I know you and your family will miss him, but what a blessing he has been to you all these years! I send a hug to you all. The Lord will give you the peace you need to understand and deal with this loss.
Lovingly,

Having an office beside Dave's, working on projects together, traveling to meetings, and just talking football allowed me to get to know him. He was a fighter to the end, the ultimate professional in business, a family man, and a friend. Dave will be missed and my thoughts and prayers are with the Herndon Family.

It has been a great privilege to work with Dave and to know him personally. In his professional field of Construction Administration he was unsurpassed. He was not just extremely knowledgeable and experienced, but was gifted with wisdom. As a person, he was a gentleman of integrity, courtesy and warmth. Mrs Herndon, Elisabeth and Little Randy,
I just want you all to know how much your Dad meant to me. Those curfews, lectures and funny stories we got from him in Junior High/Highschool taught me how much he cared about us. You guys are so lucky to have had such a stong, caring and wonderful man in your lives and I know I feel lucky to have had him in mine.
Love,
