What a Wonderful Woman I had the pleasure of knowing in Mrs. Stringer. I haven't seen her since I was a student at Forrest High School in 1970. But I can still feel her kindness. She made me feel special and loved. Somehow I felt extra special around Mrs. Stringer because she was so kind to me. Those of you who saw her every day are so privileged to have spent that time with such a lovely woman. I feel very fortunate myself to have worked in the Guidance Office at school and to be around her for an hour a day during that school year. In my life, a very few have left the kind of deep and lasting impression that Edna Stringer put in my heart. I find this amazing for such a casual contact. I still feel it. What a Very Lovely Woman.

I love Edna Stringer and her death will not make this past tense. I loved her in High School when she always said and did the right thing to be encouraging and foster confidence in ones'self. I loved seeing her after High Scool as she was always the same, what you saw and what you got was always the same and it was good to have a "rock" that you knew would be there, fixed, even in troubled waters. I appreciate her continued interest in me long after High school with her wise words and counsel, not to mention her hard work making calls, typing, sorting, and stuffing envelopes for my two political campaigns. I am truely sadden that I will not be able to her voice and see her smiling face, but like the rock I mentioned earlier, she will always have a place in my mind and heart and I will pass on her lessons to others as she gave them to me. SHE is the "Butterfly Effect", and will continue to live in me and many others for years to come. My condolences to Renee and all the family.

What a grand gal Edna was. She was always so fun-loving and happy during the years I enjoyed her friendship. Her pool parties were fun and her dancing was a delight. To Edna's family I thank you for allowing me to share her love and your love during those years. God Bless and much happiness as her spirit lives on through each of you. Love, Beth (Howard)

Dear family
From my heart I would like to say that Mom was for me like a real mother. She was right near me when I needed somebody. I never felt like a stranger, I felt like if I was home with my family. Renee, little sis, and all of you, I pray pray to the Lord to give you comfort. Love always. Angelina

Edna Stringer was a warm and wonderful lady. She had a smile that would brighten any room. She was the best Mother to her own children and grandchildren as well as to many of her exchange students and a good friend to their families. Edna is still watching over you all and will live on in your hearts forever.

Greetings to you all. My words come to you in this time of woe. perhaps it is in place for me to say that Me, and my family (from over here in mexico) are with you all. And I just don't say it, or just write it down... I mean it. Just remember, as I heard once: "Everything, even darkness must pass..." and it will. Mrs. Stringer touched many people, as one was saying already, as well as she touched me. So may us all never forget everything she did, for it was part of what she was and is still... and will always be. May her memories in us never wane.... for if they do.... her presence shall fade forever.....Let us all now join remembering her but never living the past, for it already happened. Let us all live what is, and what will come to be....with her in mind.... always........May Mrs. Stringer live forever....

I only realized today that this guest book existed and I'm so glad I found it. You go through life thinking what you say and do doesn't really matter sometimes, but my Mother is living proof that even the littlest of gestures or comments can have a great impact... all over the world. On behalf of my brothers and sisters, Patti, David, Lynda, Susan & Gary - the family of Edna Mae Townsend Stringer thanks you all for taking the time to post your condolences.

What a GRAND/GREAT lady Aunt Edna was. She was very special to my family, my mother's very best friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. I will cherish talking with her just a few days before she passed away. She will forever live in all of us.

I loved Mrs. Stringer and have since 9th grade at Lakeshore Junior High School. Upon high school graduation in June 1967, I attended a pool party at her house. She was and will remain a special person to me. To all her family I pray for God's comfort and love.
