Elizabeth Bell McAloon

McALOON Elizabeth Bell (Betty) McAloon, 81 of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, died September 13, 2002 at Baptist Medical Center-Beaches. Mrs. McAloon was born and raised in Flushing, N.Y. and moved to Ponte Vedra Beach in 1989. She attended St. Joseph College and graduated from Packard Business College. She served as a hospital volunteer for over 50 years including the Memorial Hospital of Hollywood, FL, Doctors Hospital of Coral Gables, St. Lukes Hospital and Mayo Clinic, both of Jacksonville, FL Betty was an accomplished painter and displayed her paintings in many art exhibits in the South Florida area. She was a member of the Sawgrass Players Club Womens Association and was a Communicant at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. Her son, Kevin J. McAloon, predeceased her. Family members include her loving husband of 56 years, Joseph F. McAloon; sons, Dr. Edward J. (Pam) McAloon of Palm Harbor, FL and Reverend Francis X. McAloon, S.J. of Santa Clara, CA; daughter, Peggy (Fred) Klauk of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL and nine grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, September 16th with a wake service at 7 p.m. in the Quinn-Shalz Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Tuesday, September 17th in the Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church with her son, the Reverend Francis X. McAloon, S.J. as Celebrant and by the Reverend Michael Zampelli, S.J. and the Reverend Brendan Horan, S.J. as Con-Celebrants. Private family inurnment in Our Lady Star of the Sea Columbarium will follow the service.
