I'll always be grateful to Max Sr. for spending 3 months after my return from Vietnam helping me to come to God and to assimilate back into civilian life. He is always on my mind. I spent time with his family including Max Jr. And thank you to Max Jr. for writing me a letter informing me of his father's passing.

I doubt seriously that anyone needs reminding about Max Long -- everyone who knew him will remember him all the days of their lives. I lived in Maitland, Fla. many years ago when my kiddos were small and didn't find out for some years that Max and Ferrell lived right around the corner from us. Wish I had known sooner because almost as soon as we moved is when I found out. He was a wonderful husband, father and I'm sure grandfather.

It has been a while, Max is one of three brothers, whom I always looked up to and admired, always enjoyed being around Max(as well as his other two brothers), always a lot of good laughter, and yet, Max had a serious side. He was a great guy.

Wayne:
I remember Max from his few visits to our IR/WA meetings.
He always had interesting comments or questions for our main speaker.
I also remember our fishing trip to the docks at Queens Harbor. It was a perfect fishing trip; didn't catch a thing, but the upside was that we didn't have to clean any fish when we got home.

Our condolences!

Dear Ferrell, Many years past, we knew one another at FSU. In thepast two years I was able to be fortunate eough to see Max again working again through Ocean House with Martha Cesery Taylor. Max gave Martha his 100% effort as he did in all his endeavors. May our Lord send you and your family His inner peace quickly. God bless you and your family. Beverly Brandenburger

Many do not remember me, but I went to John Gorrie and Lee high School with Max in the early 50's. He always had great athletic abilities. There are not many of us left. I called him when Wilton Stafford passed away. I also hated it when Derick Accosta passed away.

I was know as Paul Smith but my full name is Wharton Paul Smith, Jr.

My condolences to his family and I am sure he will be missed by all.

Our paths crossed briefly but Mr. Long made an impression on me just knowing him a short time. My heart aches for all of the family and friends as I know how much he is loved and how much he will be missed. Cherish the memories and keep them in your heart. May God comfort you in knowing that he is in Heaven and we'll all get to see him again one day. May God Bless you and keep you strong during this difficult time. Love in Christ, Sherry Harper

Max was a loyal friend, a good husband and father, a good brother, and a wonderful person. Even when he was not feeling well, he was a joy to be around and whenever he gathered with people, there was laughter. His sincerity, his love of his family, and his positive nature were beacons that attracted people to him. You just felt good to be around him. My sumpathy and prayers go out to all his family. After I lost my wife, one of the comforting times I had was lunch with Max, and his brothers, Pierce and Wayne. I thought and will always continue to think of him very highly and I am proud that we were friends. To Ferrell and the family, I know this is a difficult and I will always appreciate that you let me and others of his friends share some of his time.
St. Peter and others where he is going will have great fun sitting around talking or fishing with him.
