Rachael Wheeler Tison

1922 - 2016

TISON Rachael Wheeler Tison, 93, our beloved mother passed away on January 27, 2016. Rachael was born February 18, 1922 in Wauchula, Florida. She lived most of her life in Florida. Rachael was a telephone operator during WWII in Ft. Lauderdale where she married her husband, John Harold Tison, Sr., on April 30 1945. She and her husband enjoyed fishing, boating, and hunting during their 60 years together. Rachael was a loving wife and mother and was known as the glue that held her family together. She was many things to the family- mother, friend, confidant, advisor and listener. She was preceded in death by her husband, John and grandson, Nicholas. She leaves five loving children; Patricia Ann (Don) Wolf, Barbara Ellen (Bob) Aultman, John Harold (Dianne) Tison, Jr., Cynthia Jean (Terry) Bryson, Sharon Ann (Jeff Fannin) Tison; six grandchildren, Wendy, Joseph, Jason, Matt, Sara and Becky and two great grandchildren, Sebastian and Ethan. Rachael will be joining her husband John on February 18, 2016 at Oaklawn Cemetery. A Celebration of her life will follow at 1:30pm in Mandarin Garden Club, 2892 Loretto Rd. Jacksonville, FL 32223. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Rachael's name to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida or the charity of your choice.
