Watts
Shirley Anne Holt Watts passed away peacefully on December 17, 2020 in Jacksonville, Florida, at 80 years old. She was born on January 6, 1940, in Byron, Georgia, to parents James Maurice Holt and Portia Howard Holt.
Shirley graduated valedictorian from Byron High School, and graduated from Georgia Women's College in Milledgeville, Georgia. She loved sports, and played basketball in both high school and college. She and her husband, Robert, were married on April 6, 1963, and were married for 57 years. She retired from the Social Security Administration in Jacksonville, after 40 years of service. She was deeply devoted to her faith, and was a member of Englewood Baptist Church, serving as a Sunday school teacher for many years.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Robert Gary Watts; her daughter Elisa Watts Mitchell and son-in-law Ted David Mitchell, Sr.; her grandson Ted David Mitchell, Jr. and granddaughter-in-law Victoria Marsh Mitchell; her grandson Jacob Daniel Mitchell; her sister Jane Holt Brown and brother-in-law Frank Brown; her brother-in-law Kenneth Watts and sister-in-law Stella Watts; her sister-in-law Beverly Watts Rulli and brother-in-law Joe Rulli, and several, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Her funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, December 23 at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin. Interment will take place at 1:30pm on Wednesday, December 23 at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32218.
