Mr. Downey, Joel, Beth and entire Downey family, I am so sorry for your loss. Heaven has gained a beautiful angel. I remember Betty from the West End Mini Mart and the beautiful smiles she had and her hearty laugh. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Rest in peace Mrs. Downey.

The Downey's was one of our favorite neighborhood hang outs. Basketball inside and out, kick the can, football, sliding down laundry chutes. Thank you Mrs. Downey for putting up with us all. Your house was always open. Joel and family, I am truly sorry for your loss.

Mrs. Downey was a significant Christian influence on me. After I was born again, I called her some years later and told her about it. I will remember her spirituality and joy always.

I worked with Betty's daughter Beth at Home Depot and come to find out they were from Mansfield PA. I was from Elmira NY. Betty and her husband and I would share wonderful stories from up North. Betty was a wonderful and beautiful lady. When my husband was going through cancer she ask me if it was alright to put us on their prayer list at church and this was just after we found out we all lived roughly 30 or 45 mins from each other up North. Betty will be surely missed by all who new her, especially her family. Fly high Miss Betty!!!!!! God Speed! Until we meet again.
