Amy Valentine Obituary

Amy L. Valentine

Amy L. Valentine, 52, of Laureldale, formerly of Lansford, passed away tragically due to a fire at her residence on Friday, Nov. 1, 2024.

Born in Hazleton, she was a daughter of Mary Ellen (Stanziola) Kleckner of Lansford and the late Wallace Kleckner.

She was a 1989 graduate of Panther Valley High School and then went on to graduate in 1993 from Alvernia College, where she received her bachelor's degree in business and marketing.

Amy first started her working career in hotel management and sales. She then became self-employed, having started the "First Class Masonry" business as well as owning and operating a gourmet pizza truck that was called "Cutie Pies."

She also worked in the food service industry, having been the cook at the Fleetwood American Legion, for Kutztown University and last at the Sly Fox Restaurant.

She enjoyed playing the piano and loved her many dogs and cats that she had raised during her life.

Surviving along with her mother are her daughter, Alexis Shuey of Reading; several aunts and uncles; and many cousins.

Service: Private funeral service at convenience of family. Contributions in Amy's memory may be made to PETA, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, 501 Front St., Norfolk, VA 23510 or online at support.peta.org. Amy was my Dear and sweet friend for 30 years. We called each other sisters. Mary Ellen & Lexi, there are no words that I can say that would truly bring comfort to your heart. It has been over 2 months since Amy's passing and I am still heartbroken. She was a beautiful young lady and a beautiful soul. I will never forget her. She will always be "my little Sissy." May God comfort you with his peace. Sending my love and my deepest condolences.

Animals need all the friends they can get and Amy Valentine was certainly one of them as her many loved dogs and cats could testify. It is awful to hear of this tragedy. Everyone at PETA thanks her daughter, Alexi, for looking after animals who were never lucky enough to feel the love of a family through tributes to her mother's memory. We send our condolences and wishes of strength to her, to Amy's mother, aunts and uncles and all who knew and cared about her. Ingrid Newkirk, president, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.
