Barry Kratzer Obituary
Barry D. Kratzer, 84, of Palmerton, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 26, 2023, in the St. Luke's Hospital, Carbon Campus, Franklin Township. He was the husband of Sharelle Y. (Long) Kratzer. They were married for 57 years last May.
He worked for 42 years as a union carpenter for many area contractors.
Born in Palmerton, he was a son of the late Harold and Vera (Myers) Kratzer.
He served honorably in the U.S. Army during peacetime.
Berry was an avid deer hunter and loved to support his grandchildren's sports teams. Most mornings, he enjoyed breakfast out with his group of lifelong friends.
Surviving in addition to his widow are a daughter, Karla Grohotolski; a son, Kyle, and his wife, Michelle; five grandchildren, Tyler, Shane, Katie, Kory and Kody; two great-grandchildren, Shane and Emma; and a sister, Kay, wife of Kyle Young.
He was also predeceased by a sister, Marlene Redline; and a brother, Charles.

Barry to me was known as Kratzer. My pap, George Schmidt was friends for years and Barry would stop by from time to time to talk about hunting, fishing and fond memories. After my pap´s passing I would still see him driving by with the Hummer and wave. Very nice man. He will be missed.

Barry was always a very nice man and a great customer Saturday mornings were always the best and the guys always had a great time! He will be missed greatly from the employees at the Bowmanstown Diner !
