George A. Hahn

George A. Hahn, 88, formerly of Lehighton, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2025, in the Forest Hills Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center, Weatherly. He was the husband of the late Janice L. (Kasten) Hahn, who passed away on Dec. 27, 1996.

Born in Lehighton on Saturday, March 21, 1936, he was a son of the late Clarence and Marguerite (Strauss) Hahn.

Prior to retiring, he was a Dealer Principal at Hahn & Son's Dodge Automobile Dealership, Lehighton.

He served our country with the Army National Guard 165th MP Battalion with nine years of service and was activated during the Berlin Crisis.

George was a member of the former St. Peter's E.C. Church, East Weissport, and was currently a member of Trinity E.C. Church, Berlinsville.

He was an active antique automobile enthusiast/judge and held memberships with the Ontelaunee Region AACA, the Packard Club and the Studebaker Club.

He was also a member of the Lehighton Fire Co., Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Co. and the Lehighton Ambulance Association.

Surviving are three daughters, Sharon L. Bowers, and her fiancé, Dale Troxell, of Andreas, Jayne L. Bayer (Gregory) in Florida and Lisa E. Salomon (Neil) of Lehighton; four grandsons; seven great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Paul Hahn; a sister, Ellen Light; and an infant daughter.

Service: Funeral service 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, Ovsak Funeral Home, 190 S. Fourth St., Lehighton, with the Rev. Ken Schira and Chaplain Scott Reiman officiating. Interment, Lehighton Cemetery. Call 9-11 a.m. Tuesday. Contributions in his name may be made to Trinity E.C. Church, 4647 Lehigh Drive, Walnutport, PA 18088, or the Family Pillars Hospice, 3910 Adler Place, Suite 130, Bethlehem, PA 18017. Online condolences can be offered at ovsakfh.com.
