John J. Lazur
John J. Lazur, 78, of Hershey, formerly of Hometown, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 3, in Hershey. He was the husband of Susan M. (Shickora) Lazur. They were married for 58 years.
Prior to retir-ing, he was the proprie-tor of John J. Lazur, CPA, accounting offices of Tamaqua.
Born in Still Creek, he was a son of the late John G. and Sophie M. (Wronsky) Lazur.
He was a member of St. Richard's Roman Catholic Church, Barnesville.
John was a 1957 graduate of Marian High School and a 1966 graduate of the University of North Carolina. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.
He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Surviving in addition to his widow are a son, John M., and his wife, Mary, of Hometown; five daughters, Susan T., wife of Kevin Sinton of Lake Hauto, Cynthia, wife of Eric Herr of New Hope, Lisa, wife of David Frederick of New Ringgold, and Ranee, wife of Scott Reilly, and Anjuanita Lazur, both of Hershey; a brother Richard, and his wife, Louise, of Anchorage, Alaska; a sister-in-law, Aleta Phillips in Maryland; 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by a son, Christopher R.; and a brother, Joseph J.
Service: Funeral service 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, Damiano Funeral Home, Blaine and Cleveland streets, McAdoo; Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m., St. Richard's Roman Catholic Church, Barnesville, with the Rev. Joseph T. Whalen as the celebrant. Interment, Sky-View Memorial Park, Hometown. Call 6-8 p.m. Friday.
