Mrs. Margaret M. Matalone, 84, of Nesquehoning, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, Oct. 9, 2022, in the St. Luke's Miner's Memorial Hospital, Coaldale. She was the wife of Michael F. Mata-lone. They were married for 65 years.
She worked for many years as a sewer in various garment factories in Nesquehoning.
Born in Coaldale, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Dowling) Evans.
She was a member of St. Joseph Parish of the Panther Valley Roman Catholic Church, Summit Hill, and was a former member of the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church in the New Columbus section of Nesquehoning.
Margaret enjoyed gardening, sewing and spending time with her granddaughter, whom she adored. She will be dearly missed.
Surviving in addition to her husband are a daughter, Michele McHugh, and her companion, Gary Sagan, of Nesquehoning; two brothers, James Evans of Nesquehoning and Joseph Evans, and his wife, Karen, of Summit Hill; a granddaughter, Sarah McHugh, and her companion, Christopher Fallabell, of Jim Thorpe; and nieces and nephews
She was also predeceased by a son, Joseph M. Matalone; and a twin sister, Theresa Michalac.
Service: Funeral service 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12, Bruce A. Nalesnik Funeral Home, 57 W. Center St., Nesquehoning, with the Rev. Robert George officiating.
