Matthew Aungst Obituary
Born in Lehighton, he was a son of Christopher and Mary Kelly (Reese) Aungst of Lansford.
He was a freshmen student at Panther Valley High School, where he was involved in the track team as a high jumper, long jumper and sprinter.
He was a member of Salem Bible Fellowship Church, Lehighton.
Aungst was a junior firefighter for the American Fire Co. No. 1, Lansford.
He enjoyed skateboarding, biking and quad riding.
Surviving in addition to his parents are a sister Alecia and a brother David, both at home; maternal grandfather, Robert Reese of Lehighton; paternal grandmother, Elizabeth Aungst of Lansford; two nieces, a nephew and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by paternal grandfather, Edward Aungst; and his maternal grandmother, Mary Joan Reese.
Service: Funeral service 11 a.m. Friday, June 3, Skrabak-Parambo Funeral Home, 210 E. Bertsch St., Lansford, with the Rev. Robert Johnson officiating. Interment, Sky-View Memorial Park, Hometown. Call 5-8 p.m. Thursday and 10-11 a.m. Friday. Contributions may be made to the Matthew Aungst Funeral Fund, c/o the funeral home, 18232. Online condolences can be signed at www.parambofh.com.

I'm so sorry. I still can't believe Matt is gone and it's almost been a month. He will always be in my heart. I carry the ribbon with me everywhere because it is the last memory I have of Matt. Rest Easy Matthew!!! <3

i did not know your son (brother, nephew, grandson, cousin) and i don't know anything about your family either. i came across his memorial page on facebook through a cousin of mine and it was very touching and brought me to tears to see how loved he was. please know i am praying for your family and hoping you can cope through this hard time in your life and know with god, all things are possible. it may seem like its never going to get better but, my mom always told me since i was a little girl and still tells me, time heals everything. you will never forget or get over the loss of your son but with the love from your family and faith you will learn to cope, and be able to smile one day remembering the memories you have of him. may he rest in peace and forever be a loving memory!

I am sorry that I never had a chance to know Matthew as he sounds like an amazing young man. I am so sorry for your loss although I know these words don't really help to ease your pain. I have 3 kids and can't imagine how much this must hurt. Your family is in our thoughts and prayers.
